Retaining Walls

Engineered block and natural stone walls that hold their line through freeze and thaw — built on proper footing and drainage, guaranteed to stay put.

A retaining wall has one job: stay put. In Western Pennsylvania — where clay soil, steep grades, and fifty freeze-thaw cycles a winter conspire against every structure — that job is harder than it looks. We build walls that do it for decades, not seasons.

Every wall we install starts underground. We excavate to undisturbed soil, compact a deep aggregate base, and build in drainage — perforated pipe and clean backfill — so water never gets the chance to push your wall out of line. It's the work you'll never see, and it's the reason our walls don't lean, bulge, or crack.

We build in segmental block for engineered strength and clean lines, or natural stone for a look that gets better with age. From a garden terrace to a structural wall that reclaims a hillside for usable yard, we design for your grade, your drainage, and your budget — and we'll tell you honestly which material fits the job.

Retaining walls pair naturally with our grading and drainage work, and many of our wall projects grow into full outdoor living spaces — steps, walkways, and patios built on the same solid base.
